AstroCore was born out of frustration with the existing options for Home Depot R2-D2 control systems — and a desire to build something that just works reliably, event after event.
Every feature in the AstroCore platform was designed based on real-world R2 building and operating experience. The sound recovery logic, the watchdog behavior, the personality mode timing — all of it came from actual problems encountered at real events with a real R2.
My background is in marketing, but I've always had one foot in the workshop. I'm a maker and artist by nature — the kind of person who can't look at a problem without thinking about how to build a better solution. That combination of creative and commercial thinking is what drives everything about AstroCore Depot.
AstroCore is designed to be a platform, not just a board. The goal is an actively developed, community-focused ecosystem that grows with the R2 builder community.
